Can My Tyre Be Repaired?
Whether a puncture can be repaired depends on its location, size and the overall condition of the tyre.
We’ll carefully inspect your tyre and advise whether a repair is safe and suitable. If it can’t be repaired, we’ll explain why and help you find the right replacement tyre for your vehicle.
Signs You May Have a Puncture
Not every puncture causes an immediate flat tyre. Look out for:
- A tyre that keeps losing pressure
- Your tyre pressure warning light coming on
- A visible nail, screw or other object in the tyre
- Your vehicle pulling to one side
- Unusual vibration or handling
- A tyre that looks noticeably lower than the others
If you suspect a puncture, have it checked as soon as possible.

Got a Nail or Screw in Your Tyre?
If you spot an object stuck in your tyre, don’t pull it out. Removing it can cause the tyre to lose air more quickly.
Check your tyre pressure if it’s safe to do so and bring the vehicle to your nearest Modern Tyres centre for inspection.
Repair or Replace?
We’ll always assess whether your tyre can be safely repaired first.
However, some punctures and tyre damage cannot be repaired safely — particularly damage to certain areas of the tyre, significant structural damage, or tyres that are already badly worn.
If replacement is necessary, our team can recommend suitable options for your vehicle and budget.
