EV Tyres for Electric and Hybrid Vehicles
Electric vehicles place different demands on tyres compared to petrol or diesel cars. Increased vehicle weight from battery packs and instant torque delivery mean tyres must provide strong grip, reinforced construction and long-lasting performance.
EV tyres are developed with lower rolling resistance to help maximise driving range. They are also designed to reduce road noise, as electric vehicles operate more quietly and tyre sound becomes more noticeable. Reinforced sidewalls and tread compounds help manage the additional weight and torque commonly associated with EVs.
Many leading manufacturers now produce EV-specific tyres, including the Michelin e.Primacy, Continental EcoContact 6, and Pirelli Elect marked models. These tyres are engineered to balance efficiency, grip and tread life.
At Modern Tyres, we supply and professionally fit EV tyres in Ireland, ensuring correct load ratings, speed ratings and compatibility with your vehicle.
