Run Flat Tyres for Safety and Continued Mobility
Run flat tyres are designed to allow you to continue driving for a limited distance after a puncture or loss of pressure. Reinforced sidewalls support the weight of the vehicle even when air pressure drops, reducing the need for an immediate roadside stop.
They are commonly fitted as original equipment on vehicles from manufacturers such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz, where the suspension system is designed to work with run flat technology. It is important that run flat tyres are only fitted to vehicles approved for their use.
Run flat tyres provide added safety by helping maintain steering control following a puncture. Most models allow you to drive at reduced speed for a limited distance – typically enough to reach a safe location or tyre specialist.
At Modern Tyres, we supply and professionally fit run flat tyres in Ireland, ensuring correct vehicle compatibility, load ratings and precise wheel balancing.
